I am a behavioural political economist. Currently, I hold positions as assistant professor in economics at the University of Groningen (NL) and research fellow at the Centre of Expertise In the LEAD (NL). I received my PhD from the University of Groningen in February 2019.
My research focuses on how the social, economic and political environment interacts with individuals' preferences, beliefs and behaviour. In one line of my research, I study questions related to political behaviour, identity and norms, and redistribution. In my research fellowship, I study the role of public leadership in citizen engagement and in effective governance of sustainability challenges. By asking societally relevant questions, I want to contribute to solving today’s complex problems.
I teach courses in macro, international and political economics at the Bachelor-level and supervise Bachelor, Master and PhD students.
